3-16. Plumb Bob Position Update.
Perform the following steps to update and adjust UTM or Geodetic position and altitude by selecting a point
from IPADS database, entering coordinates for a new point or searching for a point name:
NOTE
Procedures for updating UTM or geodetic coordinates are similar. UTM
will be used in the examples. See paragraph 3-13e for Geodetic coordinate
entry.
IPADS performs an update and adjusts previously marked points. If points
were marked since the last update Maneuver vehicle to center plumb bob
reference point over SCP survey marker.
a.
Initiate a ZUPT, paragraph 3-14, table 3-4.

Verify position format is set to format of update coordinates, paragraph 3-11e(3).

From MENU, MAP or NAVIGATION AID page, press F3. UPDATE page is displayed with PRESS F1
FOR PLUMB BOB; F2 FOR THEODOLITE on information line and F1-UPDT-PB, F2-UPDT- , and
F9-EXIT on function key line.
d.
Press F1. UPDATE: PLUMB BOB: page is displayed with cursor box on PNT NAME: field and function
key legend line shows F2-NEW, F3-SEL PT, and F9-EXIT.
e.
Perform the following steps to select an existing point from POINT LIST:
(1) Press F3. POINT LIST page is displayed with function key line F2-NEW, F3-SEL PT., F4-FILTER,
F5-DEL ALL, and F9-EXIT.
