(4) If audible alarm is turned off, display should read ALARM IS DISABLED; PRESS Y TO CONFIRM
TEST; OTHER KEY TO CANCEL is displayed.
(a) Press Y to initiate test. Audible alarm should sound and IF ALARM IS NOT AUDIBLE PRESS FNC
F9; PRESS ANY KEY TO SILENCE is displayed.
(b) If audible alarm sounds, press any key. Audible alarm goes silent.
(c) If audible alarm does not sound, verify it is turned on and press FNC
to raise volume.
(d) Press F9 to exit STATUS page.
NOTE
IPADS retains configuration settings after shutdown. It is not necessary to
reconfigure IPADS for settings that do not change from previous mission unless
changing from training mode to tactical mode.
IPADS MUST be configured for the current mission including: normal operation mode or training, vehicle
type, survey order, ellipsoid and datum, display settings, grid zone (if using UTM coordinates and operating
within 40 km of a zone boundary) and date and time. IPADS is configured from MENU, figure 3-6.
a. IPADS Mode.
IPADS indicates it is in one of the two training modes by displaying the word TRAIN on the top, figure 3-4.
In addition, the top line font will be white when in a training mode. In normal operations, the top line font
will be amber and the word TRAIN will not be displayed. IPADS indicates it is in EMULATOR MODE in
SYSTEM STATUS & MESSAGE area of display.
Perform the following steps to change among the modes of operation:
(1) Scroll to IPADS MODE on MENU and press ENTER. IPADS MODE screen is displayed.
