3-14. Zero-velocity Updates (ZUPTs).
CAUTION
Failure to perform ZUPTs when requested may cause survey mission failures.
IPADS indicates degraded operation (DGR) when the time since the last ZUPT
exceeds the ZUPT interval by 30 seconds.
NOTE
ZUPTs should be performed whenever vehicle is stopped.
NXT ZUPT shows the time remaining until a ZUPT stop is required.
Frequent ZUPTs improve survey accuracy.
Helicopters must land for ZUPTs.
Audible alarm is silenced by pressing any key.

ZUPTs are needed for accurate surveying. A ZUPT begins automatically during initialization. Thereafter,
IPADS requests ZUPT stops at 5-minute intervals in 4TH order survey or 10-minute intervals in 5TH order
survey. IPADS automatically performs a ZUPT at all mark and update procedures.

IPADS requests a ZUPT by flashing function key line F4-"ZUPT", flashing "NXT ZUPT" indicator, and
sounding audible alarm 15 seconds before next required ZUPT. Sequence of operations to perform a ZUPT
