(2) User must choose which mode to operate IPADS.
(a) F1-Operational Mode
(b) F2-Training Mode using CPNU
(c) F3-Training Mode using emulator (no CPNU)
(3) Press F1, F2, or F3 (PRESS Y TO SWITCH MODE/RESTART CDU is displayed). Press Y
(Pressing Y will shut down CDU software).
(4) When the screen displays IT IS NOW SAFE TO SHUTDOWN, set BCU power output
b. Vehicle Type.
IPADS must be configured for the host vehicle to accurately reference the position of the plumb bob
reference point. IPADS supports four vehicles listed below and an additional vehicle (OTHER) with operator
entered parameters. Current vehicle selection is shown in third field of mode line.
NOTE
When changing from training modes to normal operation mode, the vehicle type
needs to be updated with current settings.

Perform the following steps to change vehicle type:
(1) Scroll to VEHICLE TYPE on MENU and press ENTER. Function key line shows F1-M998,
F2-M1123, F3-M973, F4-UH-60 and F5-OTHER.
