IPADS can store two sets of user-defined datum parameters for each
predefined ellipsoid and for each of two user-defined ellipsoids. Verify
parameters are for the intended datum when selecting a user-defined datum.
Incorrect parameters may introduce significant position error.
(1) Change Ellipsoid and Datum
IPADS must be configured for the datum of initial update SCP. Ellipsoid and datum can be changed
later if output of coordinates on a different datum is required. Datums are associated with ellipsoids.
IPADS supports the ellipsoids and associated datums in table 3-3. IPADS accepts entry of user
defined ellipsoid and datum parameters, paragraph 3-11d(4). Ellipsoid and datum currently in use are
identified in CURRENT PLUMB BOB DATA area of display. Perform the following steps to change
ellipsoid and datum:
