3-9. Brightness Setting.
Adjust CDU display brightness and keyboard lighting for ambient light conditions or blackout operation as
follows:
a.
Dim Display.
Press FNC
to dim CDU display. Each press of FNC
decreases brightness slightly until full
dark is reached. Release FNC
when desired brightness is reached.
b. Brighten Display.
Press FNC
to brighten CDU display. Each press of FNC
increases brightness slightly until
full brightness is reached. Release FNC
when desired brightness is reached.
c.
Keyboard Lighting.
Set CDU power switch to KBD LIGHT to illuminate keyboard for operation in the dark. Set CDU power
switch to ON to turn off keyboard illumination.
d. Stealth Mode.
An alternate method to dim display is to set CDU power switch to STLTH. This also dims keyboard
lighting and reduces audible alarm loudness. Set CDU power switch to ON or KBD LIGHT to restore
normal brightness and loudness.
3-10. Audible Alarm.
Turn audible alarm on and off from the STATUS Screen. When audible alarm is on, set volume as follows:

Test alarm
Perform the following steps to test audible alarm:
(1) From MENU, MAP, or NAVIGATION AID page, press F8-STATUS. STATUS page is displayed.
Function key legend shows F2-ALARM and F9-EXIT.
(2) Press F2.
(3) If audible alarm is turned on, audible alarm should sound and IF ALARM IS NOT AUDIBLE PRESS
FNC F9; PRESS ANY KEY TO SILENCE is displayed.
(a) If audible alarm sounds, press any key. Audible alarm goes silent.
(b) If audible alarm does not sound, verify it is turned on and press FNC
to raise volume.
(c) Press F9 to exit STATUS page.
