7-3. Software Installation Continued
Insert TB 9-6675-349-12-1 (CD) into CD drive of computer. A software installation selection screen will be
displayed.
When each software package is listed on the screen, select it for installation (Y) or no installation (N) depending
on the function of the computer.
Follow on-screen instructions to complete installation of each desired software package.
Completion of installation will be displayed on-screen.
7-4. Software Removal. Software packages must be removed (uninstalled) before installing an upgraded version.
Software packages should be removed from a computer if the computer will no longer perform the function
intended by the software.
NOTE
You must have Administrator privileges to uninstall software on your
computer.
Windows can be set to compress programs that have not been run for a
while. Programs that have been compressed may not uninstall. If you get a
message to insert the distribution disk when trying to uninstall a program,
cancel out of the uninstall and run the old version of the program you are
trying to uninstall. Close the program. It should now uninstall properly.
From the Windows Task Bar select Start > Settings > Control Panel.

From Control Panel select Add or Remove Programs.

Select a program to be removed from the displayed list.
d.
Click on Remove and follow any on-screen instruction.
e.
When removal is complete, repeat steps c. and d. for any other programs to be removed.
f.
When all desired programs are removed, close Add or Remove Programs and Control Panel.
SECTION III. REPROGRAMMING IPADS AND DOWNLOADING MAPS
7-5. Reprogramming the CPNU and CDU.
NOTE
IPADS Software Downloader must have been previously installed on the
MSD.
TB 9-6675-349-12-2 (CD), containing the latest IPADS software, is needed
to reprogram IPADS.
Start IPADS Software Downloader on the MSD.

Select UPDATE Software and follow on-screen instructions.
b.
Load TB 9-6675-349-12-2 (CD) into the MSD when instructed.

7-6. Downloading Maps.
NOTE
IPADS Software Downloader and IPADS Map Manager must have been
previously installed on the MSD.
Start IPADS Software Downloader on the MSD.
Select Map Manager and follow on-screen instructions.
When IPADS Map Manager is displayed, follow instructions in Chapter 6 to download maps to IPADS.
