IPADS MAP MANAGER
SECTION I. INTRODUCTION
6-1. Scope. These instructions cover installation, removal, and operation of IPADS Map Manager to and from a
laptop computer.
a.
IPADS Map Manager allows the operator to:
(1) Prepare digital map files in the special format required by IPADS from National Geospatial
Intelligence Agency (NGA) CDs containing digital map data in the Compressed Arc Digitized
Raster Graphic (CADRG) format.
(2) Delete IPADS map files from the host PC IPADS Map Library, removable disk, IPADS or
Emulator.
(3) Copy IPADS map files from the IPADS Map Library on the host PC hard drive to an IPADS,
IPADS Emulator, or a removable disk.
(4) Copy IPADS map files from an IPADS Map Library on a removable disk to the IPADS Map
Library on the host PC hard drive, an IPADS, IPADS Emulator, or a different removable disk.
b. IPADS Map Manager software can be installed from a CD or downloaded from the Army Electronic
Product Support (AEPS) Website:
(1) CD
(a) Prepare digital map files in the special format required by IPADS from National Geospatial
Intelligence Agency (NGA) CDs containing digital map data in the Compressed Arc Digitized
Raster Graphic (CADRG) format.
(b) Delete IPADS map files from the host PC IPADS Map Library, removable disk, IPADS or
Emulator.
(c) Copy IPADS map files from the IPADS Map Library on the host PC hard drive to an IPADS,
IPADS Emulator, or a removable disk.
(d) Copy IPADS map files from an IPADS Map Library on a removable disk to the IPADS Map
Library on the host PC hard drive, an IPADS, IPADS Emulator, or a different removable disk.
(2) AEPS (https://aeps.ria.army.mil)
(a) If you have a username, log onto the AEPS site.

Click on "New Services on AEPS" on the right hand of the screen.

Click on "IPADS software download."

Follow instructions for download and installation of software.
(b) If you don't have a username, go to http://aeps.army.mil.
(c) Click ACCEPT.
(d) If you have a CAC card click on ACCESS REQUEST FORM on the left side of the screen.
(e) If you do not have a CAC card click on ACCESS REQUEST FOR NON-CAC USERS.
(f) Follow the on-screen instructions.
(g) Your username and password will be e-mailed to you. You may then access AEPS.
