IPADS shuts down during transfer to another vehicle.
Step 1. Check BCU Battery Good indicator to see if it is illuminated.
a. If LED is not illuminated, charge backup battery for four hours.
b. With IPADS running on vehicle power, turn DC INPUT Switch off.
c. If IPADS continues to run, backup battery is good.
d. If IPADS shuts down, replace both backup batteries.

BCU Battery Temp LED not illuminated.
NOTE
If IPADS is operating on AC power or battery backup power, the battery temperature
light will not be illuminated.
Step 1. Turn in to contractor.

IPADS CDU fails to communicate with FOS.
Step 1. Inspect FOS cable W136 to ensure it is not cut or pinched, it is connected securely at the
connectors and there are no bent or damaged pins.
a. If cable is serviceable, disconnect and turn in for repair, paragraph 4-7.
Step 2. Check the System Status for error messages.
a. If there is an error message, turn in CDU for repair, paragraph 4-7.
b. If there is no error message, go to step 3.
Step 3. Replace FOS with serviceable FOS.
a. Retry communication.
b. If communication is good, repair is complete.
10. IPADS CPNU Commo failure.
Step 1. Check wiring harness W114 cable connectors for looseness.
a. If tight, go to step 2.
b. If loose, tighten, recycle power, and try to power up IPADS.
a. Turn off IPADS.
b. Notify maintenance.
c. Perform continuity check on wiring harness W114.
d. If W114 is unserviceable, turn it in for repair.
e. Reconnect W114 and turn on IPADS.
Step 3. Check the System Status for error messages.
a. If there is an error message, turn in CDU for repair, paragraph 4-7.
b. If there is no error message, go to step 4.
Step 4. Replace CDU with known good CDU.
