Update Rejections at Initial Update SCP

1. Operator entered coordinates incorrectly
a. If displayed coordinates are incorrect, enter the correct
coordinates.
b. If displayed coordinates are correct, see part I, reason 2.
2. Accuracy of initialization coordinates is
Check map spot or coordinates used to initialize system. If accuracy
questionable
not within 100 meters, press Y to accept update. IPADS will align.
If accuracy within 100 meters, see part I, reason 3.
3. Accuracy of initial update SCP is
Press F9 to cancel update. Proceed to another known SCP and
questionable
update system.

Reason for high radial error
Operator Corrective Action
1. Operator entered coordinates incorrectly
a. If displayed coordinates are incorrect, enter the correct
coordinates.
b. If displayed coordinates are correct, see part II, reason 2.
2. Accuracy of present SCP is questionable
a. Press F9 to cancel update. Proceed to another known SCP and
update system.
b. If update is accepted, continue with mission. The accuracy of the
last SCP where update was rejected is questionable.
c. If update is rejected, the accuracy of the initial update SCP or the
initialization data is questionable. See part II, reason 3.
3. Accuracy of initial update is questionable,
Troubleshoot all data. Update over known accurate SCP. IPADS
or initialization data was incorrect
will align.
3-19. PAE Code.
At completion of a mark, IPADS summarizes the results by displaying the following on the MARK page:
PAE x x x (x means the value does not matter for this illustration)

PAE stands for Position, Azimuth, Elevation (altitude). PAE code also is displayed on POINT EDITOR
page when IPADS marked point data are displayed.
b.
A " " (dash) means the parameter in that PAE code location was not marked. A "d" or "D" means the
parameter in that PAE code location was marked using the vehicle drivers interface (plumb bob) reference
point. A "t" or "T" means the parameter in that PAE code location was marked using a theodolite. Lower
case "t" or "d" indicates the data are not adjusted. Upper case "T" or "D" indicates the data are adjusted.
An "E" indicates the data for that PAE code location may not meet accuracy requirements and should not
be used. PAE codes are summarized below:
