2-11. Changing Vehicles.
a.
The operator must determine the type of vehicle used with IPADS. Each vehicle type will have a different
set of dimensions associated with the plumb bob suspension point. The last vehicle used will be displayed.

b.
If the displayed vehicle type is correct, the operator may proceed with system initialization.
c.
A change of selected vehicle may be effected at any time by following the procedure of paragraph 3-11b.
d.
Adding a new vehicle reference point may be accomplished with great care in the measurement techniques
and entered into the system using the instructions in paragraph 3-11b.
2-12. Preliminary Checks and Services.
After completing an IPADS installation with all equipment mounted and connected, make the following checks:
a.
Cables connected as in figures 2-13 and 2-14, cables properly routed, and connections tight.
b.
IPADS frame secured firmly to floor plate.
c.
No physical obstructions to observing the PPA from outside the vehicle.
