Function
DC INPUT Switch
Controls DC power from the vehicle or aircraft to IPADS. Does not control AC
power.
Output Switch
Controls power from the BCU to the CPNU and CDU.
Battery Good Indicator
When illuminated, indicates BCU internal batteries are charged to 80 percent of
full capacity or greater.
External DC Power Indicator
When illuminated, indicates BCU is receiving DC power from the vehicle or
aircraft and the input power switch is ON.
External AC Power Indicator
When illuminated, indicates BCU is receiving external AC power.
Battery Temperature Indicator
When illuminated, and when the Battery Good Indicator is illuminated, there is
enough power to support the IPADS for inter-vehicle transfer.
NOTE
The Battery Temperature Indicator is always on unless one or
more of the following conditions occur:
The battery has been stored at temperatures approaching
50 F or below.
The battery heater is not working properly.
The AC power cable is used.
24 VDC INPUT Power
Connects to cable providing 24 VDC Input power from the vehicle or aircraft.
Connector
AC Input Power Connector
Connects to AC power cable that is normally stowed in one of the IPADS storage
compartments.
Output Power Connector
Connects to IPADS Wiring Harness W114 to provide power to the CPNU and
CDU.
Latch
Two latches secure the BCU cover to the BCU. The cover is opened to inspect
Vent
Releases excessive pressure in the BCU in the event of catastrophic battery
failure.
