NOTE
Packaged BCU batteries may be shipped by normal transportation means
without restriction provided the battery is protected against short circuits and
securely packaged. For all modes of transportation, each battery and outer
package must be labeled: "Non-Spillable" or "Non-Spillable Battery." This label
must be visible during transportation.
a.
Remove BCU batteries, paragraph 2-4.
b.
Press transit case pressure relief valve until air pressure is equalized.
WARNING
The foam in the IPADS transit case is flammable. Do not expose to open flame
or ignition sources. Extinguish burning foam with water spray, CO2, foam, or
dry chemical fire extinguisher.
CAUTION
The empty transit case with cover open is top heavy. Support cover so transit
case doesn't tip over.

Unlatch eight latches and open transit case cover.

Ensure harness assembly W114 is stowed to prevent pinching of cable.
e.
When using or storing the IPADS in the field, the case and cushioning should be kept as dry as possible
and the unit wiped clean prior to placement in the case. If fungal growth is noted, wipe the area with a wet
cloth and soap or use an alcohol wipe.
WARNING
IPADS weighs 135 lbs (61.4 kg); use four people to lift.

Position IPADS inside transit case.
g.
Close transit case cover and secure its latches.
