2-2. Removal of IPADS From Transit Case - Continued
a.
Press pressure relief valve (1) until air pressure is equalized.
b.
Release eight latches (2).
c.
Swing open transit case cover.
WARNING
IPADS weighs approximately 135 lbs (61.4 kg); use at least four persons to lift
it out of the transit case.
CAUTION
The empty transit case with cover open is top heavy. Support cover so transit case
does not tip over.
d.
Lift IPADS upwards until it clears the transit case and move it to a smooth, flat surface.
e.
Inspect IPADS components, cables, and connectors. If damaged, components must be replaced. Cables
must be replaced if frayed or otherwise damaged. Components or cables are exchanged through the supply
f.
Close transit case cover and secure latches.
WARNING
The empty transit case weighs 60.0 lbs (27.3 kg); use two people to lift.
g.
Store empty transit case.
2-3. Checking Unpacked Equipment.
a.
Inspect equipment for damage that may have incurred during shipment. If the equipment has been
damaged, report the damage on SF 364 (Report of Discrepancy (ROD)). Marine Corps users will report
damage as prescribed by SECNAV 4355.18A and DLAI.4140.55, Reporting of Supply Discrepancies.
b.
Check the equipment against the packing slip to see if shipment is complete. Army personnel report
discrepancies in accordance with SF 361, Transportation Discrepancy Report. Marine Corps personnel will
submit SF 361, as prescribed by Marine Corp Users Manuals, UM 4400-123 and -124.
c.
Check to see whether the equipment has been modified. (Equipment that has been modified will have the
Modification Work Orders (MWO) number near the nomenclature plate.) Check also to see whether all
currently applicable MWOs have been applied. (Current MWOs applicable to the equipment are listed in
AR 750-10, Army Modification Program; for Marine Corps users, in SL l-2 or SL 1-3.)
