3-33. Transfer From Ground Vehicle to UH-60 Helicopter with Rotor Stopped - Continued
b. Prepare IPADS for transfer.
(1) If connected, disconnect FOS data cable W136 P1 from CDU J2 and place caps on CDU and cable
connectors.
(2) Verify helicopter plumb bob arm is stowed and secured with its quick release pin.
(3) Without disconnecting the cable, remove the CDU from its mount (see figure 2-21).
(4) Detach CDU mount from CDU indexer mast.
(5) Attach CDU mount to UH-60 CDU indexer.
(6) Secure UH-60 CDU indexer to IPADS frame using quick release pin.
(7) Without disconnecting cable, install the CDU in the CDU mount and secure latches.
(8) Remove IPADS UH-60 power cable W116-2 cable and 8 cable ties (found inside the IPADS toolkit
pouch) from storage compartment and connect P2 to helicopter receptacle plug J258, Figure 3-10.
Store and re-secure IPADS tool kit when complete.
(9) Use the 8 cable ties to secure power cable W116-2 to the railing of the seat next to where IPADS will
be placed, figure 3-15, and two cable ties to secure the excess cargo strap when securing the IPADS in
J258

Transfer of IPADS from Vehicle to Helicopter.
IPADS, while in operation, may be transferred from a vehicle to helicopter with or without the rotor
stopped using the following procedure:
WARNING
If the helicopter rotors are turning, canvas and top bows must be securely tied
down in the vehicle.
(1) Position vehicle outside the rotor disk, approximately 30 feet from helicopter right cargo door.
(2) Verify that helicopter has been prepared for IPADS transfer, paragraph.3-33a.
(3) Remove two T-handles securing two clamping brackets to vehicle floor plate.
(4) Move IPADS frame assembly a few inches to disengage pins in alignment bracket assembly.
(5) Reattach T-handles and clamping brackets to floor plate after IPADS has been moved.
