2-10. Install IPADS in M973 Series Small Utility Support Vehicle (SUSV) - Continued

Preparation of Vehicle for IPADS Installation. Work should be performed in a heated, enclosed
workshop free of grit, grime, dirt and dust. Ambient working temperature should be 15C (60F) or higher.
All work to install IPADS will be performed in front car. Installation of IPADS into the SUSV requires
IPADS, SUSV, IPADS installation kit, SUSV installation kit, HMMWV installation kit, and Organization
Tool Kit. All tool kits must be complete. Prepare vehicle for installation as follows:
Door
Hinge
Spring
(1) Unhinge All SUSV Doors. Use 6-inch pliers from SUSV BII kit to unhinge the spring and place in
door pouch, figure 2-33.
