2-10. Install IPADS in M973 Series Small Utility Support Vehicle (SUSV) Continued
(3) Removal of Winch Plate.
NOTE
Unless specified, store all parts removed from the SUSV with the SUSV BII.
Obtain 13-mm open end wrench from Organizational Level Maintenance.
(a) Using 13-mm open-end wrench and 1/2-inch socket from SUSV BII, remove four bolts securing
winch plate onto winch mounting brackets, figure 2-35.
(b) Remove winch plate from SUSV.
(c) Reattach nuts, bolts, and washers to winch plate.
(d) Stow winch plate in rear car.
(4) SUSV IPADS Modifications. Before IPADS can be installed, the SUSV winch mounting rails must
be drilled to provide mounting holes for securing frame assembly onto vehicle.
NOTE
Check if the holes for the front rail assembly have already been drilled into the
winch mounting brackets. If the holes have already been drilled, go to step (5),
removal of rear passenger-side seat and toolbox.
