(5) Operating rod disassembly.
(a) Remove rod head (1, figure 2-172) and nut (2) from operating rod (3).
(b) Remove needle busing (4) from rod head (1).
d. Repair.
(1) Replace worn or damaged needle bushings.
(2) Replace frozen or binding ball bearings.
(3) Replace weak or broken compression springs.
(4) Replace worn or damaged pins and rollers.
