Using a crow bar, lower the clamp down as far as possible and insert a

block of wood under it to hold it down.

Remove clamp piston cover plate.
NOTE
Splash ring is removed by pushing against collar with screwdriver from
underneath clamp piston cover plate.
Remove plastic splash ring from clamp piston.
