(1) Enable IPADS as a destination
(2) Select IPADS as the default destination
(3) Automatically remove all map image and text files from the IPADS\IPADS CSCI\Data Files\Map
Repository\ folder to the IPADS\IPADS UPDATE\CDU\Map Repository\ folder.
(4) Automatically deletes any orphan map images or text files from the IPADS Map Repository (an
orphan file is one that doesn't have a corresponding map or image file with the same name).

Emulator: IPADS Map Manager determines if an IPADS Emulator is installed on the host PC. If
installed, IPADS Map Manager will:
(1) Enable the Emulator as a destination
(2) Select the Emulator as the default destination if an IPADS is not connected.
(3) Automatically moves all map images and text files form the Emulator\IPADS CSCI\Data Files\Map
Repository\ folder to the Emulator\IPADS UPDATE\CDU\Map Repository\ folder.
(4) Automatically deletes any orphan map images or text files from the Emulator Map Repository.

Window Size: The IPADS Map Manager window will be displayed at normal size. The operator will not
be able to minimize or maximize the IPADS Map Manager window.
H-8. Shutdown. The operator will be provided with a control to initiate graceful closure of IPADS Map
Manager.
H-9. IPADS Map File Preparation. IPADS Map manager prepares IPADS map files from source digital map
data.

Source Digital Map Data.
(1) Format.
(a) Threshold IPADS Map Manager accepts source digital map data in the CADRG format as
specified in MIL-PRF-89038.
(b) Objective IPADS Map Manager accepts digital map data in all formats suitable for map
background display.
(2) Source Data Source
(a) Threshold IPADS Map Manager automatically searches all drives on the host PC (except the
root dive) for source digital map data. Source data is considered available if an A.TOC file is
found in a RPF folder in the root directory of the drive.
(b) Objective IPADS Map Manager automatically identifies all sources of map data on all drives of
the host PC.
(c) In the event source data is not automatically found, IPADS Map Manager allows the operator to
browse for it.
(3) Available Data Display. When source data has been found, IPADS map Manager displays the map
scale and boundary coordinates for each available data block.
(4) Data Block Selection. IPADS Map Manager allows the operator to select the map scale(s) and data
block(s) to be processed directly from the displayed data.
b. Output IPADS Map Files. IPADS Map Manager prepares IPADS image and text files.
(1) Formats. Output map image and text file formats are as specified in the IPADS Accessory Software
Interface ICD.
