The rotational adjustment of the negative in its plane
is controlled by the swing drive.
The drive element consists of a worm gear which is
actuated by turning the swing drive knob.
As the knob is turned, the entire film
stage pivots in the larnphouse.
This rotates the negative in its plane and provides
f o r t h e a l i n e m e n t o f t h e n e g a t i v e s a x i s o f t i l t w i t h t h a t o f t h e r e c t i f i e r . F or
rapid movement of the swing circle,
the worm drive may be disengaged by pivoting the
knob and shaft to the right .
The film stage can then be rotated by hand through a
f u l l c i r c l e .
