Charging batteries generate explosive mixtures. Do not charge batteries
where flames or other ignition sources may occur.

Be extra cautious to reduce the risk of dropping a metal tool onto
t h e b a t t e r y.
I t m a y s p a r k o r s h o r t - c i r c u i t b a t t e r y o r o t h e r e l e c t r i c a l
parts, and cause an explosion. Death or injury may occur.
Remove personal metal items such as rings, bracelets and watches when
working with a lead-acid battery.
J e w e l r y c a n p r o d u c e a s h o r t - c i r c u it
current high enough to weld a ring or the like, causing a severe burn.
Caustic Chemicals in Batteries:
Use rubber gloves, apron, and face shield
to avoid burns.
If chemicals get on skin, clothes, or equipment,
wash immediately with water.
If chemicals get in your eyes, flush
thoroughly with water and get medical help immediately.
Use charger for charging a lead-acid type battery only. It is not intended
to supply power to a low voltage electrical system other than in an auto-
m o t i v e a p p l i c a t i o n.
Do not use for charging dry-cell batteries as they may
burst and cause injury to personnel.
Check for the leakage of electrolyte around battery.
Inspect battery case for cracks.
Inspect battery terminals for damage.
Clean battery terminals.
Remove battery vent covers.

CAUTION
To prevent damage to battery, be sure to observe correct polarity.
Positive (red) output cable has red connector. Negative (black)
output cable has black connector.
