Remove two socket head screws and defective carriage motor.

Install new motor and secure with screws.

NOTE
When carriage motor is replaced, always install new carriage cables.
Install new carriage cables (paragraph 2-20.10).

Reinstall rear panel.

Move composing machine back to wall (paragraph 2-16.10).

Reinstall top right cover and reconnect spring.
Reinstall cassette mounting bracket.
p.
Turn on circuit breaker.
q.
Turn on power switch.
r.
Reinstall center panel.
s.
Close top left panel.
t.
Perform diagnostic test.
