Check cams and cam followers for wear and binding.
Replace worn or binding cam followers (para. 2-67). For badly worn
cams refer to next higher level of maintenance.
Check front lay adjustment (TM 5-3610-286-10) and external adjustments
(para. 2-52).
Check suction valve adjustment (if sheet hangs up) (TM 5-3610-286-10).
Using a multimeter set to range higher than 115V ac, check for 115V ac
between point 44 of contactor (c2) and point A1 of contactor (c21).
If power is present, go to step 7.
If no power is present, check that main power switch is ON.
Check for proper operation of suction drum (m21). Using a multimeter set to
ohms range, check for continuity between points listed below for each
component.
Contactor (c2): Point 44 and Point 43 (press relay button)
Motor Protection Switch (a21): Point 13 and Point 14
Contactor (c21): Point A1 and Point A2
If no continuity is present, replace faulty component (para. 2-93).
If continuity is present, go to step 8.
Check continuity of wiring to suction motor (m21) (figure FO-1).
If no continuity is present, repair wiring.
If continuity is present, replace suction motor (m21) (para. 2-48).
12. IMPRESSION CYLINDER DOES NOT GRIP PAPER PROPERLY.
Step 1.
Check for damaged or missing components on impression cylinder.
Repair/replace components on impression cylinder (para. 2-70).
