L E V E L I N G THE AIMING CIRCLE
NOTE
For general use of aiming cir-
cle, such as laying artillery and
mortars, centering the bubble
in the circular level provides
sufficient accuracy. If more ac-
curate leveling is required,
such as survey work, the main
housing tube level bubble must
be centered.

Turn aiming circle leveling screw
knobs until the bubble is centered
in the circular level.
Check that circular level bubble

stays centered while fast
traversing the aiming circle
through 6400 mils. Spot check at
1600-mil intervals that bubble is
44 centered.
