ASSEMBLY AND PREPARATION FOR USE (CONT)
NOTE
Crank handles have two positions when engaged. High
speed adjustment is made when crank handle is pulled
fully out. Low speed adjustment is made when crank
handle is pushed in.
1. Pull crank handles (1) out on leveling jacks (2) and landing
jacks (3), and engage.

Clear area on ground where leveling footplate (4) will rest.

Lower landing jacks (3) until pressure is relieved from fifth
wheel.
4. Set chocks and disconnect tractor. Deflate air suspension bags
to 3 psi as indicated in TM 5-2330-305-14.
5. Lower leveling jacks (2) until pressure is relieved from landing
jacks (3).

Open inclinometer covers (5).
7. Station personnel at locations allowing a clear view of all four
inclinometers (6).
8.
Observe inclinometers (6) to determine if end or side needs
raising.
Be sure bubble is centered on all four inclinometers.
CAUTION
Do not attempt to level Section by lifting at diagonal
corners. Frame could be twisted.
9. Raise low end by extending both leveling jacks (2) at low end.
Use low speed.
10.
Raise low side by extending both leveling jacks (2).
11. Be sure bubble is centered on all four inclinometers (6). Close
inclinometer covers (5).
12. Pull crank handles (1) away from semitrailer chassis and lower
crank handle to disengaged position.
