PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE CHECKS AND SERVICES (PMCS)
Section II.
2-2. GENERAL .
The Section must be inspected regularly to find and correct
defects.
a. Before You Operate. Always keep in mind the CAUTIONS and WARNINGS.
Perform your before (B) operation PMCS.
b. While You Operate. Always keep in mind the CAUTIONS and WARNINGS.
Perform your during (D) operation PMCS.
c.
After You Operate.
Be sure to perform your after (A) operation
PMCS.
d. If Your Equipment Fails to Operate. Troubleshoot with proper
equipment. Report any deficiencies using the proper forms. Refer to DA
PAM 738-750.
PMCS PROCEDURES
a. Your Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services table lists the
inspections and care of your equipment required to keep it in good
operating condition.
b. Use the "Item No." column of the PMCS table to supply the item
number used in the "TM Number" column of DA Form 2404.
c. The interval column of your PMCS table tells you when to do a
certain check or service.
d.
Perform weekly as well as before operations PMCS if:
(1) You are the assigned operator and have not operated the item
since the last weekly PMCS.
(2) You are operating the item for the first time.
e. The procedure column of your PMCS table tells you how to do the
required checks and services. Carefully follow these instructions. If YOU
do not have the tools, or if the procedure tells you to, have organiza-
tional maintenance do the work.
f. If your equipment does not perform as required, refer to chapter 3
under Troubleshooting for possible problems. Report any malfunctions or
failures on DA Form 2404, or refer to DA PAM 738-750.
g. Refer to TM 5-4120-367-14 for PMCS that pertain to air conditioner/
heaters.
h. Refer to TM 5-2330-305-14 for PMCS that pertain to semitrailer
chassis.
