Scrape old sealing compound from groove
in underside of cover (10).
If damaged, remove two retaining rings

(11) and two observation windows (12) by
scraping old sealing compound from
groove around window holes in cover (10).
Remove screw (13) and magnifier (14).

Using pivot wrench (fig. E-7, appx E), re-

move pivot (15), setscrew (16), and sleeve
(17) .
Remove two screws (18), two washers

(19), damper (20), two screws (21), damp-
er (22), and compass needle (23).
If damaged, remove reticle (24) from

damper (20).
Remove plunger assembly (25), screw
15
(26), holder (27), and spring (28).
If damaged, remove setscrews (29).
