GENERAL.
a.
Before You Operate. Always keep in mind the WARNINGS and CAUTIONS. Perform your BEFORE
PMCS prior to using your equipment.
b.
While You Operate. Always keep in mind the CAUTIONS and WARNINGS. Perform your DURING PMCS
when the equipment is being used in its intended mission.
c.
After You Operate. Be sure to perform your AFTER PMCS after you have finished using your equipment
for its intended mission.
d.
If Your Equipment Fails To Operate. Troubleshoot with the proper equipment. Report any deficiencies
using the proper forms. See DA PAM 738-750.

PMCS PROCEDURES. Your Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services table (Table 2-1) lists inspections
and care of your equipment required to keep it in good operating condition. The table is structured as follows: a.
Item Number Column. This column shows the order in which to perform checks and services.
b.
Interval Column. This column shows when to perform each check or service.
c.
Item to Check/Service Column. This column identifies the item on which check or service is to be
performed.
d.
Procedures Column. This column shows how to perform required checks and services. Carefully follow
these instructions. If you do not have the tools, or if the procedure shows you to, have unit maintenance
do the work.
e.
Not Fully Mission Capable if: Column. This column contains criteria used to decide whether or not
equipment is ready and available for use. An entry in this column identifies conditions that make
equipment not ready/available for readiness reporting.
f.
Instructions for Reporting and Correcting Deficiencies. If equipment does not perform as required, refer to
Chapter 3 under troubleshooting for possible problems. Report any malfunctions or failures on DA Form
2404, or refer to DA PAM 738-750.
