(2) Flash intensity control. This circuit controls the intensity of the
flash as a function of type size. Character width information is received from the
main program and stored in the register. The information is then loaded into the
D/A converter and a voltage proportional to the character width is produced. This
voltage is then passed to the flash power supply where it is used to control the
intensity of the flash; the larger the voltage, the greater the intensity of the
flash.
