Label wires from ballast for reference.
Remove black and white wires from wire nuts.
Cut lamp receptacle lead-in wires close to defective ballast to
eliminate excess wiring.
Remove nut and ballast.
Cut new ballast lead-in wires.
Label new ballast wires to correspond to old ballast wire labels.
Replace ballast and secure with nut.
Reconnect black and white ballast wires to wire nut connection.
Reconnect lamp receptacle wires to new ballast with wire nuts.
Remove labels.
Install new wire ties.
Be sure wires are free of kinks and do not interfere with placement
of wire guard.
Reinstall wire guard.
