b. Repair.
(1) Disassembly.

Lubrication system pump and accessories. (figure 2-209)
Loosen fitting (1) and separate oil tube (2) from lubrication pump (3).
Remove fitting (4), oil tube (5), and fitting (6).
Remove four socket-head screws (7), washers (8), bearing flange (9), and
bearing (10).
Remove two socket-head screws (11), washers (12), and bearing bracket (13).
Remove suction screen (14), fitting (15), and oil tube (16).
Loosen retaining ring (17) and slide out of groove in pump shaft.
Remove two socket-head screws (18) and washers (19) and separate lubrication pump
(3) from bearing bracket (13). This allows pinion gear (20) to slide off pump shaft with
retaining ring (17).
Remove relief valve (21) and packing ring (22).
Remove connecting piece (23) and separate from oil tube (2).
Remove fitting (24).
Remove four socket-head screws (25), washers (26), oil filter (27), and
gasket (28).
Remove six round-head screws (29), washers (30), plate (31), oil level indicator
(32), and gasket (33).
Remove eight screws (34), washers (35), cover plate (36), and gasket (37).
Remove plug (38), washer (39), and pipe (40).
Replace worn or damaged pinion gear (20) and binding or damaged lubrication pump
(3). Replace clogged filter (27) and damaged oil level indicator (32). Replace leaking
gasket (37) and damaged oil tubes (2, 5, 16). Replace clogged relief valve (21) and
frozen or binding bearing (10). Replace missing or damaged suction screen (14).
