2-3.2 Hydraulic Unit.
Hydraulically raises, holds, and lowers frame and
lifting mechanism. It consists of:
a.
Hydraulic Unit Body.
Provides housing for hydraulic components,
b. Reservoir.
Provides storage for hydraulic fluid.
c.
Pump.
Provides fluid under pressure and ports it to control valve.
d. Control Valve.
Controls directional flow of fluid.
e.
Ram.
Utilizes fluid pressure to raise or lower frame.
f. Overload Valve.
Prevents damage to hydraulic unit if load exceeds 5000
lbs. (2265 kg.).
g.
Activator Arm.
Moves control valve to position selected by release lever.
