As the tilt drive nut moves along the tilt spindle, the motion causes the easel to
move toward the front or rear of-the rectifier. The lower carriage acts as a
s u s p e n s i o n p o i n t , t h u s c h a n g i n g t h e a n g l e o f e a s e l t i l t . A t i l t m o t i o n i s a l so
imparted to the easel through the easel arm pivot assembly. The net effects produce
a n i n t e g r a t e d t i l t o f t h e e a s e l .
The combined action maintains a common point of
intersection of the lens, negative, and easel planes.
